The different factions are always bickering and arguing with each other on the best course of action, each furthering their own interests and ideals. The factions take part in a delicate dance of balance. If one steps too much out of line, the others put pressure on them (financial, diplomatic, military or otherwise) to fall back in line. But the factions are not monolithic entities with a singular will, they're made up of people, so even when the goals or ideals align, there might be different voices within the factions on the methods taken.
Knowledge Factions (Explorers, Scribes, Mages, Alchemists, Healers, Navigators, Fortune Tellers). They generally want to discover new things, that can be beneficial, to all or just themselves. Sometimes in collaboration with other guilds when they need additional financing or protection with projects.
Commerce Guilds (Merchants, Bakers, Farmers, Smiths, Jewelers, Bankers, Miners, Alchemists) Making money is the name of the game, as much as possible if they can.
Military Guilds (Mercenary, Guards, Bounty Hunters, Adventurers, Smiths, Shipwrights, Navigators, Diplomats)
The Druid Circles of Kildar Owlbear Protection Society (nature protectors), they protect nature, sometimes by any means necessary.
The Eldritch Inquisition (anti-evil-magic order), they seek out and fight evils that are not, or should not be of this world.
Cults of Kildar (Hexagon), various cults exist across kildar, that worship deities, magic or magical beings
Criminal Organizations (Stormhaven Gangs) Where the guilds cannot go, these organizations can and will.
The Guardians of the Portal Network, protect the extremely valuable portal network that all the guilds and major factions rely on to quickly travel between the major settlements of Kildar.
The Peoples of the Feywild
The Crusaders of Lady Elaine (freedom fighters), opposed to all forms of oppression, whether through military might, economics or social constructs. What started as a goblin-slave revolt has turned into a religious following of the fey-lady elaine, to bring freedom to all. But what freedom entails is very much up to interpretation by the individual, from white knighting, to robin-hood style banditry or piracy to complete anarchy.
