Orcs

Other groups

Orcs that work in the cities and are in frequent contact with other races consider themselves and others as equals. Only “awakened” fundamentalists hold disdain to other races, especially towards elves.

Factions

Many Orcs are scattered across Kildar living in Qaddar’s as many of the original Orc settlements no longer exist. The only original Orc city that still exists in some form is Šraku. It is mostly desolate and only the center camp is populated by a handful of religious fundamentalists who call themselves “Awakened”.

Most “half-Orcs”, which are now simply considered Orcs, that populated the outer ring of Šraku left as Šraku’s isolationist and militaristic policies created such poverty that most left to seek fortune elsewhere.

Šraku perfectly embodies the “Awakened” movement: Religious Orc supremacists that live in a tent camp surrounded by the ruins of their former greatness, which they long to restore.

Notable members

Gruumak the Unifier is remembered by many as a Populist that used old grievances and the societal status of the orcs during that time to create a rebellion. He is often portrayed as a consequence of the exclusion of Orcs, the living conditions of Orcs at that time and the arrogance of the other races.

After Gruumak’s defeat by Destro Fortica, many races wanted penance for Orc-kind’s wrongdoing. However, in an effort to heal a divided race, an Orc woman named Math’rak with the help of several other races created the “Torrica Trials”.

In these lengthy proceedings Math’rak acted as Judge to judge the Orcs of the rebellion on their personal deeds and crimes against others. Math’rak showed Orcs, and the world, that there was no inherent evilness in any one species but that one's actions define one's morality. Afterwards Math’rak served as the first Orc minister, and dedicated her life to the well-being and integration of Orcs into modern society.

A young Orc Lieutenant, named Goth’Rakk, stood trial. He was a genius in the art of warfare and during the Torrica Trials many of his victories in battle were reviewed. He always followed the rules of war and showed his defeated enemies mercy and dignity. For this he was acquitted from the trials and commended for his deeds. He served dutifully as a high ranking officer in the military commanding units of both Orcs and non-Orcs.
