The Fey
The Hags also hold considerable power in the Thornwoods, a hag coven known as The Three Sisters, has laid claim over the woods and considers everyone who enters the Thornwoods trespassers on their domain, this includes the village of Thornvale which has existed there for hundreds of years.
The Court of Tricksters also holds sway over the Thornwoods, drawn by the energies of the fairy circles. Their fey agents weave illusions, plant false trails, and lure the unwary into bramble-choked dead ends. While some encounters end in laughter or harmless confusion, others prove far more dangerous—especially for those who disrespect the forest.
Knowledge Factions
Circle of the Blue Moon
Operating under the broader umbrella of the Druid Circles of Kildar, the Circle of the Blue Moon holds deep ties to the Thornwoods. Their philosophy blends natural reverence with practical stewardship, seeking balance between mortal use and wilderness preservation. In collaboration with Vaelor's Refuge, a nearby resort nestled at the edge of the forest, the druids lead eco-tourism ventures.
The Owlbear Protection Society (OPS)
Born in Thornvale but active throughout the Thornwoods, the Owlbear Protection Society is a passionate faction of locals and farmers who believe owlbears are sacred to the balance of the forest. They patrol the bramble thickets and swamps, opposing hunters and poachers who threaten the creatures.
