Old Codex Hexagon

The Hexagon is an Eldritch cult active on the East Coast of Kildar.

They use geometrical patterns, forbidden mathematical equations and numerical forces as their source of magic.

They don’t believe in the divine powers of the gods. This goes as far as wanting to diminish the power of the gods by disproving their supernatural miracles with mathematical and scientific principles.

Nicknames/Aliases:

Maleficent Mathemagicians, Abyssal Algebraists, Followers of the Forbidden Equations

History:

The Hexagon Founders found a portal in ancient ruins and freed parts of the Infinity Dragon. As a reward, they all received the Ordinal’s Ordeal. When this Eldritch Equation is solved, ultimate truths about the universe await them.

When they died, their souls were stored in fractal recursions (also known als fractals) that echo throughout time. Some say these fractals are the arrival of saints and divine messengers. Fractals resemble glass humanoids with multiple reflections of one’s soul in them

Hexagon Cultists to this day want to either solve the Ordinal's Ordeal or find other ways to appease the Infinity Dragon.

With the prophecies of the Red Star and the sightings of Rifflers are spread among the cultists, they see a chance to conduct a difficult yet powerful ritual to absorb Hadar's powers for their own gain.

They tried to use this information as leverage to gain influence in Kildar by presenting this solution to the Guilds.

After the voting of the Council, the majority of the cult traveled to an unknown demiplane to flee from the incoming Eldritch apocalypse.

A few Hexagon members, now seen as cult betrayers, have either been recruited by the Heralds of Hadar.

A handful aided the heroes during the Battle of Bimarat.

NPC’s:

Hexagon Founders (still alive in fractal form)

  1. Prime Sorcerer, a mathemagician specialized in creating automatons. "I am one, undivided like my mind." He is always seen with a larger humanoid form behind him.

  • The Prime Sorcerer wants to infuse the Deck with his automatons that can calculate the immense equation faster.

  1. Dubliex, chess and strategy master. He is depicted with chess pieces and grain.

  2. Pythosgar -> Yuan-Ti Geomancer, "Loremaster of Sacred Geometry". They are depicted with a halo of triangles around their head.

  3. Quadrin, The Hexagon Elder. He is also the founder of the Quandrix Magic School. On the reliefs, he has a classical academy behind him.

  4. Orwelsa, "Manipulator of Maths and Minds". Above him floats a cerebral entity saying 2+2=5

  • Orwelsa wants to use the Deck to manipulate great minds to solve the Ordinal’s Ordeal for him.

  1. Thessa Rex, "Queen of Hexes", creator of the Tesseract Traps. Depictions of her have her holding two hypercubes/tesseracts in her hands.

  • She wants to use the Deck’s magic to create a multidimensional demiplane

They all wanted to use the Deck in a way to find the answers to the Equation faster.

Infinity Dragons:

Aleph Null: an Infinity Dragon Wyrmling that has been recently summoned within the Wyrmspire near Júlas just before the Mindwinter Festivities.

It can bring spheres of magical darkness and float in an incorporeal form.

Misc. NPC’s

  • Steinerian: A Mad Hexagon Monk who claims to have beaten dragons without any weapons. With Hadar's power rising, cult member Phi took several heroes to his sanctuary, hoping to find another ally.

  • Riemannian Zeta -> A Dwarven sailor whose expertise of navigating the seas and stars has helped her discovering the celestial conjuction that would amplify the Hexagon Magic.

Symbols:

Their symbol is a triskele but with three interlinked 6's with a six-sided star in each loop.

The number 6 is key within the Hexagon:

There are 6 founders

1+2+3 = 6 ;  1x 2 x 3 = 6

6+5+4+3+2+1 = 21 (Pyramid)

6 6-sided die average 21

6 to the 3rd power  = 21 6

6 to the 6th power = 46656; add the numbers = 21 + 6

21 is also important in Hexagon symbolism as it is the number of the Dragon.

Dark Crystals (Based on the Platonic Bodies; d4, d6, d8, d12, d20):

In the Wyrmspire, there are perfectly geomtrically shaped crystals that function as arcane conductors. The Magicians Guild and the Hexagon have been in constant battle to use these crystals.

Depending on the mage’s intentions, they can inspire and enhance or drive enemies into despair.
