Warden Trass Vorn

"Magic is a crutch. Strip it away, and you’ll see who still stands."

Description

Warden Trass Vorn is a broad-shouldered man in his early forties, with a weathered, sun-creased face that speaks of long days in armor rather than study halls. His hair is a dark iron-gray, kept close-cropped on the sides but longer on top, swept back in a practical style. His eyes are steel-blue, sharp and scrutinizing, often narrowing when magic is mentioned. A jagged scar runs from his right temple down across his cheek, stopping just short of his mouth—earned in battle against a rogue mage.
He dresses in a practical mix of military uniform and civilian garb: a reinforced leather coat bearing the sigil of the Magica Ad Nihilum, paired with a crimson sash that marks his rank as a Warden. His movements are efficient and purposeful, though his old knee injury makes him favor his right leg slightly. His hands are calloused from years of wielding weapons, and he has a habit of resting them on the pommel of his sword even when at ease.

Traits and Motivations

  • Personality Type: Stern, pragmatic, and disciplined. He has the demeanor of a soldier-turned-officer who expects others to pull their weight.

  • Virtues: Honest, straightforward, loyal to those he trusts, and protective of common folk who might be harmed by careless magic.

  • Bad Habits: Can be overly blunt, quick to dismiss anything he deems “unnecessary.” His stubbornness sometimes blinds him to nuance.

  • Fears: Losing control of a situation where magic runs rampant, or failing those who depend on him. Despite his stern exterior, he quietly dreads being seen as powerless.

  • Temperament: Rarely hot-headed—he’s more of a simmering fire than a sudden blaze. But when his anger does break, it’s terrifyingly direct.

Routine

  • Morning: Begins his day with physical drills to keep his body sharp, followed by reviewing reports from his subordinates on magical activity.

  • Daytime: Oversees investigations into magical disturbances, often traveling personally to inspect or mediate when tensions rise. He believes in showing his presence as a deterrent.

  • Evening: Spends time with his close comrades and younger recruits, mentoring them in discipline and reminding them of the dangers of magic. Sometimes he visits taverns to keep his ear on the public mood.
