Volkolaki, or werewolves, are wolf-shapeshifters. Unlike the bearfolk, many volkolaki were once human but became cursed after being bitten by another of their kind. This affliction is highly contagious—one volkolak can turn an entire village into a pack of ravenous beasts. Because of this, efforts are made to track and eliminate them before they can spread. However, in places where vigilance has failed, such as Eldjun and Wolf Island, volkolaki have become a dire threat.
