The grim lands of the southeastern edge of Kanian Kvatokh are not called that without reason. Amidst the forests and swamps of Darkwater rises the Plague-Ridden Castle of the Valirians. Here, on hidden paths, travelers are ambushed by ruthless bandits and folk-tale heroes from old Kanian legends – some of whom prove to be far more dangerous than expected.

The local population lives in fear and dread of a gang led by the infamous Nightingale the Robber. Adventurers who arrive in these lands will need to deal with this threat first, as his raids on caravans have begun to disrupt supplies to the Kanian garrison.

In the southeast of the region lies Lukomoriye – the domain of the Great Tree, whose branches are home to Catfey, ready to offer wise advice.
