In the year 909 of the New Era, the League’s army – making use of the newly acquired ability to travel through the Astral – landed on the allod of Kyrah. By that time, Astral ships (modified with the help of the Elves) had become a more reliable means of travel. Among the warriors of the League were many Ghibberlings, and it was the Ghibberlings who captained the Astral landing ships and ensured the transportation of troops to Kyrah.
The events that followed – demonic attacks and the deaths of Great Mages – once again reminded the Ghibberlings just how fragile the world that had taken them in truly was. And although their assigned allod, Ýnngos, had withstood the chaos and their losses were not as heavy as those of the Kanians, the Ráðsnjallr (Council of Communities) decided to intensify the search for Ýsa, the true Homeland of the Ghibberlings, the place they still dreamed of returning to.
Meanwhile, due to the betrayal of the goblins – whom the Ghibberlings had evacuated from the allod of Izun – the Empire captured an Astral ship. Soon after, the secret of Astral travel became known to the Empire.
In 957, the first Astral battle took place. Imperial ships intercepted a Ghibberling fleet transporting a meteorite boulder from the Stone Island. The outcome of the battle remains unknown – both fleets apparently perished in the clash. Yet this incident became the spark for a new war, one that ended in 966, when the combined armada of the Empire and the League set out to confront an external threat.
A quiet settled over relations between the League and the Empire; both sides licked their wounds and began preparing for the next confrontation. The demons were gone, and old grievances were recalled more often. Astral ships were being further modified – by both Kania and Hadagan.
To the Kanians and the other races of the League, Ghibberlings were steadfast allies. To the Empire, they were enemies. By now, no one could imagine a world without these small, amusing, but unyielding beings who insisted on doing everything in groups of three. And the Ghibberlings themselves had become rooted in this new world – they were now a part of it. But not entirely.
Once again, the Ghibberling ships set sail into the Astral, their crews still dreaming of the one great goal of their people – to reclaim their lost Homeland.
