The Empire

It is a formidable and industrious nation, characterized by its militaristic nature and centralized governance. The Empire comprises three distinct races: the zealous Hadaganians, the fierce Orcs, and the enigmatic Arisen. Its capital city, Nezebgrad, located on Igsh allod, serves as the heart of its political and military operations.

The state of Hadagan separated from Kania even before the events of the Cataclysm, which shattered the world of Sarnout into allods. Initially, its primary population consisted of southern nomads. Later, some Kania territories joined Hadagan; however, most of its citizens still look distinct from their neighbors — they have dark hair and tanned skin.

For many centuries, Hadagan was ruled by the Great Mage Nezeb — its founder and ideological leader — who was a disciple of the legendary Skrakan. In ancient times, irreconcilable ideological differences arose between the leaders of Kania and Hadagan — Tenses and Nezeb — each of whom had their own vision for the future of their state. What began as a rivalry during their magical training evolved into a relentless enmity that has lasted for hundreds of years.

After the Great Astral Crusade, Hadagan was taken over by Nezeb’s successor, Yasker. The ongoing war between Hadagan and Kania has influenced every aspect of Hadaganian life. The pursuit of military supremacy has transformed Hadagan into an industrial state, with most of its people living in large cities. No matter what profession an Imperial citizen pursues, in their heart, they are a true warrior devoted to their Motherland.

The interests of the Empire always come first — this is instilled in Hadaganians from childhood. However, their perpetual wartime existence and the subjugation of personal interests to the greater good have not led to widespread cruelty among the population. On the contrary, the people of the allod Igsh sincerely believe that their path is the only true one, leading to universal prosperity. They despise Kania’s system of governance, believing that a nation without a single leader has neither unity in its land, nor in its ideology, nor among its people. The imposition of their vision of statehood and the unification of conquered territories into a Great Empire is the paramount goal of Hadagan’s leadership.

Orcs are among the strongest races in the world. Since ancient times, they have revered Strength above all else, often at the expense of their aptitude for magic and craftsmanship. After the Great Cataclysm, realizing that their race was incapable of producing Great Mages who could keep their territories from being consumed by the Astral, the orcs entered into a mutually beneficial alliance with Hadagan. The essence of this union was simple: the humans would provide a Great Mage to stabilize the orcish allod in exchange for full military support from the orcs.

The Imperial Triumvirate was officially formed in 907, following the recognition of the most unusual race — the Arisen — as full-fledged citizens of the Empire. They call themselves the "People of Zem."

Many millennia ago, the human tribe of Zem — the entire population of the state of Hikut — fell victim to the inhumane experiments of the necromancer Tep. Nearly 1,500 years later, after the Great Cataclysm, a strange phenomenon began occurring across all allods — corpses started to rise from their graves. The Arisen, half-decayed, partially mechanized beings, retained the memories and intellect of the long-dead Zem people. Naturally inclined toward magic, they dedicated their existence to the technological and scientific advancement of the Empire. As a result of their efforts, Hadagan rapidly progressed along the path of industrialization.
