The Holy War for the Holy Land

Thousands of years ago, before the Cataclysm, this land was home to the enigmatic people of Džun. After their downfall, a new civilization arose— the Zem, who settled in the region they called Asae-Teph (from hikuti: “Tep’s Grave”). Here, the mighty Tep constructed his Great Pyramid, a monument of immense magical power that imprisoned countless Sparks.

It was near this Pyramid that the legendary battle between Tep and the mechanical legions of the Zem took place. Though Tep was ultimately defeated, the cost was the extinction of the Zem people. Abandoned deep within the jungle, the Great Pyramid became the tomb of its master.

When the Cataclysm shattered the world, Tep’s lingering magic kept this allod from being lost to the Astral. For centuries, it drifted in isolation, its ancient ruins, wild creatures, and scattered native tribes left undisturbed. That changed when, during a demon invasion, the wandering Spark of Tenses was drawn to the Pyramid. There, Tenses seized control of its power and, in doing so, became the source of the Light that grants resurrection.

With the discovery of this allod, the secret of Light magic was revealed, and Tenses became the central figure of the Church of Light. The land was renamed the Holy Land, and the Spark of Tenses, now bound within the Pyramid, stabilized the allod. Streams of raw energy — Places of Power — emerged from the earth, rising into the sky as manifestations of his influence. Pilgrims flocked to the Holy Land, but with the rise of the Triune Church in the Empire, the allod became a battleground. Both the League and the Empire sought control over the Great Pyramid, now known as the Temple of Tenses.
