Kobolds share a common vocal anatomy, and their languages all stem from the same root tongue. However, due to geographic isolation, the languages of different warrens have drifted significantly. Dialects vary not just across allods, but even between neighboring warrens. It is not uncommon for kobolds from two different communities to struggle with understanding each other.

The base of koboldic is sibilants and clicking sounds. A strong theory that's called "The Dobule Language Theory" claims that all kobolds use two languages - one to exchange with one another in everyday situations, and consists mostly of sibilants, and another language that clnsists mostly of clicking sounds, that kobolds use to communicate on long distances. It is specualted, that clicking sounds bounce off the caves geometry well and kobolds ears are used to these sounds.
