The Manti (singular: Mantis) are a race of giant mantis-like insects of uncertain intelligence. Their speech is unintelligible to all known races, making it difficult to assess their true mental capabilities. Yet, their presence is widespread, found on nearly every allod, and they are generally non-hostile unless provoked.

Manti live in a form of social hierarchy akin to termites, divided into castes. Some scholars believe they even have "kings."

They have been observed using rudimentary tools and weapons and are surprisingly adept at magic, particularly of a primal and instinctual nature. Some have even formed a symbiotic relationship with the predatory fingus-plant, further adding to the mystery of their kind.
