Goblins are among the most numerous races in Sarnout, found across the League, the Empire, and even in neutral allods. However, their society is far from uniform - goblins exist at wildly varying levels of civilization. Some remain primitive savages or enslaved servants to wild orcs, while others have become skilled engineers, cunning oligarchs, and even political leaders.

The Empire hosts the largest goblin population, largely due to historical events. In ages past, goblins were enslaved by orcs, and when the orcs joined the Empire, many goblins followed — though slavery was officially abolished. Today, most goblins occupy menial labor roles, working as sweepers, dockworkers, and factory hands, though Nezebgrad’s streets are also teeming with goblin racketeers, beggars, and underworld figures. Their reputation for adaptability and cowardice is well known, but so is their uncanny talent for technology — many are sought after as ship mechanics and mana-facility operators.
A significant goblin power exists outside of the Empire: the Goblin Republic, an independent astral island governed by an elected president. The Republic has long been under the rule of President Urub and maintains an agreement with the Empire, despite its freebooter raids on League ships.
And of course, no discussion of goblins would be complete without mention of the Most Respectable Goblin — a powerful inter-faction oligarch, seller of rare and valuable goods, and one of the most influential figures in Sarnout. With offices in every capital, his wealth and power rival that of faction leaders themselves.
