An independent faction of free traders – entrepreneurs of all races across Sarnout – focused on exploring distant allods and commerce. To both the League and, especially, the Empire, the Free Merchants are often unwelcome disruptors of centralized power. Yet both governments tolerate them, as their trade brings tangible benefits to both sides. These merchants are said to be governed by the “Oligarchs’ Club,” also known as the Council of Seven Merchants – who always use code names in public. Rumors swirl that the Free Merchants are in league with astral pirates, but no proof has surfaced.
