The League

Unlike the Empire, which thrives on military and scientific dominance, the League is bound by tradition and a steadfast commitment to preserving its way of life. Its leadership is a balance of Kanian nobility, the ruling house of the Elves, and a democratic council that represents the will of the people. While the League’s military is comparable in strength to that of the Empire, its agrarian heritage has tempered its ambitions — conquest has never been its driving force.

One of the League’s most influential institutions is the Church of Light. As one of the most widespread religions in Sarnout, it welcomes worshippers of all races, honoring Tenses as a divine figure. The Kanians and Elves are its most devoted followers, while the free-spirited Ghibberlings have largely remained indifferent to its teachings.

Social hierarchy plays a significant role in League society. Among the Kanians, noble lineage and status are paramount, while the Elves place great importance on the prestige of their ruling house. The Ghibberlings, on the other hand, value kinship above all else - loyalty to their siblings is absolute, often outweighing duty to the League itself.

As a result, many League citizens prioritize their families and close ties over the broader interests of the nation. Though the government has made efforts to foster a stronger sense of unity, change has been slow, and personal loyalties continue to shape the League’s culture.
