Bootstuck Bend
Bootstuck Bend, to locals simply "The Stuck" or "The Bend", rests on the blackwater of Shantremar, half swallowed by cypress roots and mangroves, perpetually covered in fog. The crooked boardwalks and stilted homes lean against another. It's a place where the air tastes of smoke and salt, where charms dangle from every door frame to keep spirits at bay. Outsiders may find it eerie and unsettling, but the folk who make it their home say that the swamp provides, if you know how to ask.
