"Honor rusts, but iron endures."
The Iron Band
Less of a guild, and more of a banner, the Iron Band is a brotherhood of mercenaries, bounty hunters, highwaymen and adventurers bound together by coin. To some, they are hired steel. To others, they are little better than well-armed bandits. They thrive where law is weakest, selling blades, spells, and loyalty to the highest bidder.
Origins
The Band began as deserters and wanderers: soldiers who fled wars, treasure seekers who braved the Lawless Lands and returned alive. With no banner to call their own, they forged one in iron. Over time, The Iron Band became a sprawling network of camps, taverns and way stations. A mercenary family that welcomes all who can fight and survive.
Beliefs & Goals
Coin is the only true covenant that matters
Survival is a virtue, honor is a luxury
The Lawless Lands are teeming with opportunity, knowledge and treasure
Loyalty lasts as long as the pay
Allies & Rivalries
Catfish Court often employs the Iron Band as muscle for escort missions, so they have a longstanding allyship between each other. Similarly, the Compass Society might buy their skill on longer journeys into the desert.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, the Covenant Guard and the Iron Band have vastly different views on honor and duty, and don't get along. Many of the Holy Orders - especially Lanterns - see the Band as heretics and oath breakers.
