Westward Watch
Westward Watch
“Last of the long-distance lights.” ~ Westward Watch keeper
Westward Watch is a stone lighthouse along the eastern shore of Signal Bay, the only survivor of the old signal chain. Across the wide bay, the broken stump of Eastwatch faces it, not far from Sunrise Commons. On clear days the keeper sends mirror code across the water, getting news to the Commons a week faster than the long road around the bay. At times the ruins throw back stray glints, like a ghost reply, but no mirror large enough for return signaling has been recovered or built. At night the lamp speaks in measured shutters, and in fog the bell carries instead.
