“Where the road holds, a Waymaker stood there first.”
Pathfinders, road crews, lookouts, and signal runners who make journeys possible when the world wants you turned back or buried. Tolls can be coin or deed: maintain a route, carry a load, deliver a message, deal with a hazard, or stand a watch.
History
The Waymakers are a Return era creation. When doors opened, the first scouts, watchkeepers, and runners mapped the gaps between settlements. They standardized signals and founded the Guild to keep the new routes open.
Structure
Waystations at major crossroads. Each has a Waymaster and a crew. Apprentices learn pathcraft and hazard triage. Sporadic watchtowers provide line of sight signals and storm warnings to support convoys.
Values
Preparedness. Clear signals. Service earns passage.
