Your backstory matters. It does not need to be long or flowery. A few bullet points about where you come from, who and what you care about, and what you desire or fear are invaluable for you and for me as GM.

The questions below are intended as idea fuel. If they're helpful, weave the answers into you backstory. If you want to ignore them in favor of your own ideas, go for it!

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

Anyone

  • Were you born in a vault during the Scourge, or in the open world after the Return?

  • Who taught you, and where did you learn?

  • What habits, taboos, or tools from your origin shape how you practice your class?

  • How did the Scourge change how your class is viewed or practiced?

Seraph

  • Is your power tied to an ideal, a deity, both, or unclear?

  • What vow or doctrine guides your use of power?

Faerie

Few shelters had much room for sustained flight, and Faeries’ shorter lifespans mean more generations grew up under ceilings.

How has that experience shaped your kind?

Wildborne

Some shelters chose living walls or sacred groves, enduring the Scourge inside entwined life. Surface-settled Wildborne are rewilders, reclaiming twisted forests and scarred fields. They often protect what others fear.

  • What site must be harmed a little to heal a lot, and who will hate you for it?

  • Which creature most people call a monster do you protect, and why?

  • What natural rule guides your work, and what goes wrong when people ignore it?

Common ties: Greenhands Compact.
