Shepherds Table kept a small community alive through the Scourge by staying out of reach. Survivors benefited from the flat-topped mesa's sheer walls, True Air shielding on the crown, and herds of sheep and goats that fed and clothed them during the long Hiding. On most mornings the clouds sit below like a second sea.

Since the Return, the Table is known for fine woolens and hardy breeding stock sought by towns whose herds did not survive. Ask about what lies inside the mesa and the conversation turns; most assume there are hidden chambers under the turf, but residents won’t say.
