“Når hindringen blir veien, vil du være fullkommen. / When the obstacle becomes the way, you will be complete” - Animage, the Amorous Amignificarem
Physical Description
Animage appears centaurian, having a set of four horse legs with his upper torso remaining humanoid. On his head is a large, trimmed equestrian Mohawk reaching down His back. His left eye is covered by an eyepatch & he dons a large handlebar mustache & some missing teeth. Covered in blue, icy armor & several tabards across his horse-half with his emblem; a gauntlet inside of a horseshoe. At times he also dons a large, horned helmet, with a slit opening for his hair.
Personality
Unlike his twin brother, Animage is perceived as stern, cold & rigid. There is a severe sense of intimidation around him, and a specific sense of hierarchy & decorum; everything is do be done in a specific way, lest he sees you as inferior. Likewise, he is grounded & disciplined, as there’s always a method to his madness; he never does something without reason, and uses his brain more than anything else.
Powers
The exact opposite of his brother, he has dominion over war & war tactics, ice & snow, the night, darkness and shadow, smith-work & weaponry, discipline, society & law.
Lineage
Unlike his twin brother who has far too many offspring, he has only one daughter, Nessus, who was conceived with Nizoa, and is currently apart of the unseelie court. Recently becoming an adult in his eyes, she is one of the very few who have ever seen Animage express himself & be vulnerable.
Possessions
The Dragon’s skull - after killing the final known dragon of the old guard, Animage took its remains & forged them into a helmet, which is said to not only grant vision back into his damaged eye, but when worn, is said to deal significant damage in combat & gives ultimate focus to its wearer.
The Arsenal’s Saddlebags - said to hold an entire armory in these pockets, enough to weaponize an entire army. Each piece hold a minor blessing
Realm
Where his twin brother can best be found south of the Dawnline, Animage’s realm is north of the Duskline. It is rumored that he has an entire ice palace surrounded by a crystal fortress deep in the sea of Evernight, but no one has yet to find it & live. He will often dwell in the Ehrghen woods, where he will spend time with his daughter.\
Pantheon Relations
Daolyn - Animage respects & admires his intelligence, and considers him an allied-neutral party in all matters. At times he will misinterpret Daolyns wisdom & skew it to reinforce his own ideals & goals.
Elvaren - the sole person who’s been intimate with his twin brother, and is respectful of it, as Elvaren knows how to take care of him in times of strife & conflict. To this day, she’s been the only person to ever be able to satiate him.
Molimai/Klazoa - Animage’s twin brother & sworn rival, though whenever he’s bested by him, Animage begrudgingly admits fault. Even the very mention of his name is prone to set him off.
Roe’wyn - While he’s certainly younger and is aware of him being a reincarnation, Animage is still mourning the loss of his previous incarnation, and discreetly demonizes him, though doesn’t admit this publicly.
Nizoa - The first goddess he ever consorted with, he stopped loving her after her monsters began attacking his people, leading them to part ways romantically. He still considers her a platonic friend, but the sentiment is -not- returned in kind.
Syprian - Akin to a brother, Animage and Syprian were inseparable, and thanks to him, Animage learned the abilities of ice magic & how to harness shadows & use the darkness to his advantage. He had never experienced real loss until his sacrifice, and to this day still mourns for him.
Worship
Unlike his brother who promotes indulgence & hedonism, Animage wants his devotees tactical, organized, disciplined & chaste, and in service to a specific goal. He also promotes the ideals of survival & physical activity; the body houses the mind and should be trained as such. Ergo the majority of his followers are skilled in both practical applications of combat & survival.
Holidays
Phestian
(Fesh-tyn)
On the first day of the Glasloor moon, when Animage is chosen as Elvarens consort for the year, a large, militarized procession marches on the streets of skumringheim, and is considered a day of rest for most civilian followers, where they may indulge for one day out of the year in feast & drink without judgement.Heroes’ day
Meant as a day to honor past leaders, Jarls & other Chieftains, where those who have been award the title of “service sentinel” is treated like royalty, with smaller parades, theatre shows highlighting their accomplishments, and at times, a boon from Animage himself. This is also the day where bodies of those awarded have died begin their trek to the Tomb of Eternity.
Practice of Faith
Work, chastity, training & discipline: these are core values of those who follow Animage as a god, and are expressed thru rigorous regiment, hierarchy & order. While not everyone in Stÿrgn follows these, those who do may be guards, mercenaries, and even participate in court cases as government contracted service workers. Followers further south become monks & paladins to not only hone their bodies, but to become more spiritual.
Quests
My brother, my brother & me - Molimai has stolen Animage’s helmet, again, and has placed it somewhere in Amor. Whoever finds it will be given a boon.
Temples
The majority of Animage’s places of worship double as Ruoktus: warrior lodges where newcomers can train, hone their skills & simulate army & combat scenarios with others. While these may be anywhere, they’re most commonly found in Stÿrgn. Most devotees are also apart of local armed forces & are encouraged to participate.
Each temple is usually made of stone, with small training grounds somewhere on campus, usually in front to promote follower enrollment. Rounded doors large enough to accommodate centaur-sized people made of thick, heavy wood & carved in intricate fractals lead inside. This room is the central area of worship; there are no seats, only markers to indicate where to stand for service. Weapons local to the area decorate the walls while intricate tapestries highlight the many legends of Animage, his daughter, & as consort to Elvaren. Above the altar is a floating blue vase chained in place, with a magical, glowing, white snowflake is suspended inside it. This keeps the temple room at a colder temperature at all times, even when warm. Above that is a skylight giving enough light to see, but not enough to let the sun in. In the north, this skylight is replaced with a brighter magic snowflake that keeps the interior windless rather than cold.
To the left is a spiral ramp that leads up into a war room, where combat plans may be executed, books & journals of first hand accounts are kept, & devotees may use these books to study their own practices.
Their clerical hierarchy is surprisingly complex & intricate, with various branches and paths for different kinds of weaponry skill, feats of strength & endurance & tactical abilities, both in the field & in the war room.
Relics
Twin gauntlets of Protection - said to be Animage’s secret weapon, this pair of armor is said to hold spells of abjuration & creates a force field the exact size of the person wearing it, making its wearers immune to all physical attacks. They both must be together on the same person, or else they work as simple gauntlets.
The Auroran Horseshoes - used before the death of Syprian, Animage used to ride in the sky with a spirited army of followers in a traveling war band in the sky to help light the way in combat & to distract enemies. While their abilities have diminished, anyone wearing these horseshoes is said to bring light to the night sky in a dazzling array of colors.
Dawnlands vs. Dusklands
While not considered evil in the Dawnlands, worship of Animage, renamed to hephestu is discouraged, as those who follow his twin brother, Klazoa, see his brothers’ followers as prudes. Aside from his name change & an altered color pallet, he is treated exactly the same.
