Strength
Strength is one of the six attributes: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma. It represents physical might: lifting, pushing, breaking, and striking with force.
A higher Strength score increases your chance of success on Strength‑based checks and attacks; a low or negative modifier makes such tasks harder.
Typical places Strength matters:
Melee Strikes: Most melee and thrown weapon attacks add Strength to the attack roll and to damage, unless a weapon or feature calls for another attribute.
Athletics‑Style Checks: Actions like forcing doors, shoving enemies, grappling, climbing, or swimming normally key off Strength.
Carrying Capacity and Bulk: Strong characters handle more Bulk before becoming encumbered, supporting heavy armor, heavy weapons, or lots of salvage.
Unarmed Combat: Standard fists are universally trained and often use Strength for the attack and damage, though traits like Finesse may allow Dexterity for the attack roll in some builds.
