Groversville is the county seat of Grover County in central Tennessee. Grover County is mostly agricultural, with numerous small towns scattered about. Groversville has an official population of about 1,200 people, but its facilities are better than this would suggest. Its position as county seat and as the main stop along this stretch of Highway 135 have led to a greater prosperity than many of its neighbors enjoy.
The town is located at the east end of two rows of steep hills, which converge at the Groversville end
to form a sort of sideways “V.” The town’s boundaries officially end with those hills, but a substantial
number of farms operate beyond the hills (as well as within them) that contribute a lot to Groversville’s economy.
