Session 002: Putting the 'Fun' in Funeral

Announcements

  • Welcome our new player Tim!

  • The session may run a little shorter than scheduled. I'm inclined to run sessions shorter rather than longer, especially if that means ending on a resolution or cliffhanger.

Last we left off…

Our ragtag group of heroes had all received a wisp, sent to them by Chief Suya Aito. She sent you all on a quest to find Elder Verdan Dayi. You traced in his footsteps, following his usual rounds. After finding and fighting remnants of some kind of magical fire, you found his body. He too was investigating these fires, and died protecting the town. After laying him to rest in his room, you opened up the bundle of parchment he was carrying...

Key developments and revelations

  • The burned notes from Elder Verdan Dayi seem to contain information pertaining to ...

  • Verdant Shopkeeper is looking for a Poracha's necklace so they can add enchanting to their store.

  • The scorched trail has gotten closer to the town, and some fire nearly took out the group.

Session Feedback

  1. Cryptic notes, how do you feel about them?

  2. That combat was a near TPK, oops, any feedback for either me or the other players

  3. What do you want to see more of?

  4. What do you want to see less of?

  5. What was your favourite/most memorable moment?

  6. What do you want to accomplish next session?

Boaz (Dylle)

  1. Pretty cool stuff

  2. Shit sucks, rolls go bad, part of the game

  3. -

  4. Trying to figure out where Viktor was from was pretty funny

  5. nvt

Justin (Lennox)

  1. I'm personally fine with them, though not always able to muster the energy to decrypt them.

  2. Honestly, that's just how it is especially at level 1. at least it was a (I believe severe?) encounter as the first of the day which is how you should put out severe encounters so this is expected the general tough day of adventuring iirc is Severe -> Moderate -> either moderate or low. This is still dangerous for party*

  3. I enjoyed the starting RP and searching around for what is going on, The rest is difficult to say atm since the session did go mostly as combat and the starting RP

  4. N/A

  5. "Your roll with fortune, ehh you can hero point it" oops still the notetaker

  6. Continue on the trail to see what is going on, and possibly see if the sidequest creature can be found alongside it

Mark (Victor)

  1. I am cool as long as I am not the person expected to decipher them or solve the puzzles

  2. Wasn't near a tpk really. We could potentially try communicating and strategizing a bit more, but the nature of the fight itself was just a little chaotic, which is fine.

  3. Can't say I have much to say for either right now, just looking forward to next session

  4. Same as above.

  5. I mean the final crit was fun, but I did also enjoy the whole lets cross Victors home of the travel hot list situation.

  6. Slay a dragon Finish exploring the path!

Tim (Seeker)

  1. PUZZLES I CRAVE THEM (tho the inconsistencies are a bit tedious)

  2. I just need to roll better and not make dumb mistakes

  3. Combat was fun (albeit a bit hard but thats part of the fun too)

  4. no clue yet (rolling badly ig)

  5. the stupid -10 MAP CRIT

  6. Devise a damn stratagem and also figure out what the hell is up with the explody fire guys
