Clover Town is a small town located in the Greenhorn Fields. It is predominantly populated by adventurers, as the region holds many quests and secrets. Close to the town lies a tower, a grand dungeon that contains an important artifact to the god of the sea, storms, and earthquakes Aquer. The townsfolk swore to protect the artifact in Aquer's name.
The landscape surrounding Clover Town consists mostly of plains, with a forest beyond the river to the east. A set of hills to the north divide the Greenhorn Fields from the The Great Wyrm's Desert, both in geography and climate. Occasionally, sandstorms cross the hills and desert dust covers the nearby fields. When this happens, the townsfolk band together to clean up the dust for the sake of the local wildlife.
All the way north of the town lies a well protected graveyard, a place to pay respects to the fallen adventurers. Rumour has it that the place is haunted, some people have even disappeared after going to investigate it. The groundskeeper is a female Human named Lisbeth, though she is never seen.
In the middle of town lies the town square, recognisable by the Great Tree of Verdanwyth. Gatherings, festivities, and important meetings are held around the great tree.
Arguably the most important part of town, the docks are where all the economy happens. The non-adventurer townsfolk are mostly fishermen, who use the town's connection to the ocean. The ships are also used to trade information with the mostly solitary northern continent, Titanpeak Island, and the various regions up north.
Clover Town has an oceanic climate. The summers are comofrtably warm, and the winters don't get all too cold, the temperature ranges between 2°C-10°C during winter, and 15°C and 25°C during summer. It's often raining in Clover Town, though it is more likely to be a drizzle than heavy downpour. To protect from the rain most houses have rain-proof awnings, and an umbrella is a standard item for the residents.
Clover Town mostly consists of Humans, Gnomes, and Halflings. Though Catfolk and Kitsune are often found here as well.
Humans make up the majority of the town, versatile as ever. They have jobs ranging from fishing to innkeeping, and have adapted some traits from the other ancestries in the area. Their sense of adventure is as strong as the Gnomes, they're open and welcoming like the Halflings, and they're curious as ever like the Catfolk.
Most Gnomes in Clover Town are adventurers, a job perfectly suited for the ancestry's ailment. They often explore the forest to the east, which is rumoured to have Fey influences like the Gnomes.
The Halfling of Clover Town take care of most service industry jobs, running restaurants, inns, and small storefronts. They will welcome just about anyone into their tight-knit families, often inviting near strangers over for dinner for a good chat.
Unlike most Catfolk, the Catfolk in Clover Town live in the town rather than outside of it. They originally hail from the The Great Wyrm's Desert, but have since moved southward to escape the Wyrm's tyrannical rule.
The Kitsune in Clover Town make up the ruling class. As a town guided by spirituality, or more specifically, their worship of Aquer and Verdanwyth, this spiritual ancestry makes for the perfect leaders. They take the town's oath to Aquer very seriously, and often send adventurers to check on the tower that holds the great artifact.
Clover Town is a relatively wealthy town, with the economy being stimulated by both their fishing industry and the spoils from the numerous adventuring groups. They have a strong trade going with Titanpeak Island and the World's Eye, selling fish and buying up crops.
The town's primary religion is that of Aquer, the god of water and storms. Not only does the town protect an artifact belonging to the god, they also believe that he gives them good fortune for the fishing season if they're diligent enough.
Some townsfolk also take to Verdanwyth, goddess of nature and forests. The Great Tree of Verdanwyth stands proudly in the town square, and place offerings around its base.
The town is ruled by a council of Kitsune known as the Clover Conclave. They aim to guide the town towards prosperity and spirituality. They stimulate the economy and maintain business relations with various outside factions, as well as aid the fishermen in bartering for better prices. They also make sure that the town respects and worships their two gods, often hounding those who do not attend mass in the Square, and those who do not give offerings.
