Saint

Saints are mortal beings who have ascended to a state close to godhood upon their death. Saints often form a layer between a higher god and mortal followers. Some consider them demigods, some consider them simply as lesser gods. In the Common speech, these beings are generally referred to as Saints, though regional titles exist. Saints form the rank just below Gods and are in turn served by other divine beings.

Most Saints are beholden to a higher god. While a god has power in a broad domain, a Saint may have power in a more specific domain therein.

Ex: Branðr is a saint of adventure and leadership and is beholden to Ellri who is the high god of kings and rulership; Azuth is a saint of arcane magic and wizards and beholden to Maestra who is the god of magic.
