The largest and most formidable of the Wererats and therefore their de facto leader, The Rat Queen ran the lycanthrope empire of the underdark for some time. When she took to the surface to spread her curse as well as to make space for the Demons that crossed from the Ebon Gate to take refuge, she was meant by a great deal of hostile adventurers who did not want a Wererat kingdom on the surface world. She fled back to her lair, where she had been hiding Azreonius to receive the same protection of her Demon Guards. However, they proved loyal to Azreonius and ensured her escape rather than giving aid to The Rat Queen. The Rat Queen fell on that day, but the Wererats were able to take her corpse and revive for in another corner of the Underdark. It is said she still rules far beneath the surface, now more clandestine than ever. A return of The Rat Queen is doubtful, but adventurers should still be wary if taken unguided trips below the surface.
