Ents are as ancient as Osterra itself. They are living trees and the protectors of the woods. These beings contain wisdom unachievable by any mortal man, seeing their lives around them grow, change, and sometimes be destroyed throughout their lifespan, which is said to be thousands of years. They are not aggressive, but will occasionally use less than friendly methods to expunge no good doers from their forests. Ents are not known to move very much from one place to another, where they initially grow is typically their home for life. However, there have been stories told of some Ents being partial to more simple creatures like hobbits and moving in mass to give them aid. Combat with Ents is ill advised, as even if you can manage to defeat one, you will most likely never be able to set foot in a forest again.
