Biography
Meryn of Cedar Hill is a Lóngrén celestial healer brought to Osterra to help heal the blasted lands.
She works with elemental creatures and has an interesting relationship with any entity claiming godhood.
Meryn uses the vibrational energies from gemstones, tuning forks, hands-on/off healing to manipulate a person’s energy, and herbs/potions to facilitate healing. She may also perform rituals or call on her elemental friends to add energy to her healing and/or to help purify outside influences.
In one case, she even regenerated a lost limb by creating a facsimile from mud and herbs. She performed a ritual and called upon the gnomes of the land to help imbue the simulacrum with life.

Backstory
Births are rare in Sarn Grimm and all children are celebrated. There is no such thing as an orphan. “It takes a village,” is a truism here. Meryn was an only child born to the chief chronicler/researcher, Mellia (mother), and a master healer, Renlee (father). They had great expectations for her, however, she preferred the company of the Night Watch Guard. Learning hunting, gathering, and arms was more interesting than delving into the mysteries of healing and magic though she excelled in those studies.
When pressure was applied on Meryn to settle down and take up her proper role, she ran away using the Mirrors. When she left, she planned to travel her own world, but the Universe had a different idea.
The Portals have sent her to three different worlds, now four, to share her skills. The lessons she learned at her parents’ side serve her very well in the strange worlds she travels through. The innate curiosity of her people also stands her in good stead when it isn’t getting her into trouble.
Personality
Her need for justice and sympathy for underdogs has put her in some precarious positions and has earned the enmity of several people in her travels. One notable person was a Lord traveling through his land during an inspection. When she saw how his tenants were being treated, she fomented rebellion and found help by appealing to the Lord’s own superiors.
She is far from perfect, however, and has stolen sentient gemstones for her collection when negotiation fails. Her arrogance and pride in understanding magical jewels allow her to rationalize theft. If the current owner doesn’t appreciate the power or the sentience of the stone, her argument is that they can’t possibly take care of it or take proper precautions.
