Mellondor
"Welcome back, while you were away we got a demonic tree. But it’s okay, Maple made a deal to stave off the corruption. Everything is totally fine." -- Maple
Past the lands of dinosaurs and in the Northern-most part of the continent of Mundus Ferrox, rumors spread of a great tree that has arisen in a harsh and frozen land. It is miraculous that this inhospitable location has found the means to sustain life. That tree has called out to its chosen: a special chosen few caretakers that seem to come from all corners of Osterra and beyond.
This special tree is a patron bound by a powerful agreement that has a noble pursuit: To create the opportunity for demons to be borne in Osterra free of corruption. Part of this agreement is in thanks to arrangements with the fae of the Winter Court that gave special agency, as one day that tree may have significance to Osterra’s future.
For as the seasons value the concept of balance, it is worth considering that the greater absence of Demons in Osterra following the demon wars led to an imbalance in Osterra- for even demons play a part in the greater tapestry of the world.
Mellondor upholds as its primary values: freedom, balance, and the greater good. But the pursuit of these endeavors is achieved by more often than not chaotic means.
Symbology
Representative of this dream for the future is this- to support the preservation of Demonkind, in the interest of the greater balance and good of Osterra, where one day coexistence and not chaotic evil will define the relationship between Demonkind and Osterra.
To this end, and the dream for the future, Mellondor translates to mean “land of friends”.
The standard, out of character, is a rip-off of Sauron’s eye on a standard and is a nod of appreciation to Lord of the Rings. The design is a Melon light green and dark green reminiscent to the red and yellow flaming eye of Sauron but… it’s a melon. It is set to a purple backdrop.
Look and Feel:
For colors, purple is the color chiefly associated with our faction, but this is a loose rule. Members will have purple belt flags that denote their belonging to the Order of Mellondor.
Leadership
The current leader of Mellondor is Maple, but this is more so for organizational point of contact purposes. Sorwren heads our inter-factional relations as ambassador for Mellondor. Mellondor has no King or Queen. Decisions are made by our people working together, with each member sharing their voice
