Sites of Power
There are three Sites of Power within the world of Xardia. Each is a center point of magic, where aspects of reality flow to make up the fundamental laws of the world itself. Each is represented by one of the three godlike entities that created the world after The Creator split into three separate entities as their creations became sapient, and the emotions and moralities of their creations grew.
The World Tree, is the remains of the being that was once known as 'Nature'. This being represented all aspects of the natural world but specifically was the manifestation of life and death. Of the natural order of the world and how it is meant to retain its balance. Due to this, plant life, animals of all sorts, natural elements, primal needs, and survival instincts fall under the aspects that this entity provided and ruled over. Even with its supposed death, there are theories that due to its inherent connection to such concepts it cannot truly die and is still alive. As proof that the world itself still lives.
Next the Obsidian Tomb, is the prison that holds the imprisoned Daemon deep within the Labyrinth to the far north of the Ceridian continent along the great mountain ranges. The Daemon, despite what many people assume with current mythos is not a being of evil. However, it is a creature that was birthed through the various species evolving their own morals and views. It desires itself and all of the world to do exactly as they please, regardless of what issues it may cause others. As well as believing that, in turn, anyone has the freedom to enact vengeance on those that have done them ill-will in turn, including themselves, or have the freedom to forgive as they see fit. Whimsical, chaotic, free and emotionally driven.
Finally is Celestia which is not only the heart of the Draconian Dynasty but also the home of The Celestial. The massive tower of stone amidst the sea is the birthplace of all Dragons, creatures gifted to the Celestial in its image by Nature before its death. The Celestial represents the opposite of the Daemon in all ways, it is logical, methodical, and bound by ideals of law and order.
Holding itself to the ideal that oaths must never be broken, rules must be followed, and order leads the world to better places where their peers and betters must judge all. Due to this many see the Celestial as benevolent, but this too would be false for it has no emotion to be fond of other creatures. It simply protects them out of a sense of duty and logic to uphold their own survival and ideals.
Each of these sites of power holds the raw life force of their owners within them. Pure energy of Ascended, or "Godlike" beings fill these sites. Making them their territory, and through this infusion that binds them to the planet itself, they spread their influence and power. This is done through streams of this ascended energy that fill the planet akin to veins in a body. The largest of these 'veins', the 'arteries' if you will, are known as Leylines.
Leylines
Leylines are the strongest currents of natural life force that flow through the world. Each one is connected to one, or multiple Sites of Power. These connections are the reflection of the Leyline's individual owners' wills and dominions. Locations that focus greatly on logic, law, and order are often found beneath cities and cultures with such beliefs ingrained in them. The energy reacts and gravitates toward mental energy and emotions. The same can be said for old warzones and corrupt cities often holding leylines that connect them to the Daemon. Great forests will connect to the Fountain of Life, and so forth.
These leylines are great fountains of raw energy, which is often sought after by True Magic practitioners for their great power. Despite this, there is no way to know exactly how large a Leyline is without tremendous mastery over True Magic, potent mystical sensory, and often knowledge of true names connecting to the dominion that holds sway over the Leyline you're searching for. These restrictions are the reason that most leylines haven't been charted at all by any race, though some locations are known to a handful of scholar organizations.
Magic Flora & Fauna
A rare unique magical mutation that augments and changes various normal flora and fauna through the residual energy of the Leylines. This magical funneling of energy into the lands is the source of magical reagents used in Alchemy when it affects normal plant life and minerals. Imparting unusual magical abilities into them. Additionally, this can affect fauna in the way of creating great magical creatures that grow stronger the more energy they absorb, and time they exist. Some even rumored to contend with the mighty dragons. These creatures are often coined as “Divine Beasts” within the Draconian Dynasty.
