Buying and Selling Magic Items

Black Market Operations

Xendros avoids direct involvement in illicit deals. Instead, she uses two trusted agents:

  • Rutkus: Half-orc dockworker, blends in easily.

  • Voss : Quiet, observant, hard to follow.

They conduct deals at the Empty Net docks.

  • No names.

  • No paper trails.

  • Payments in coin or sealed pouches.

  • Buyers believe they’re dealing with ordinary smugglers.

Legal Restrictions

Under the Keoland–Iuz Trade Accord (Article 3), Xendros must register all magical transactions through Captain Fireborn.

Officially, this keeps her trade controlled.

Unofficially, she works around it.

Covert Curse

All items acquired through Xendros or her agents are cursed.

Effect:

  • A hidden mark links the item to Xendros.

  • While attuned, she may cast detect thoughts on the bearer at any distance.

  • The target automatically fails the save and is unaware.

Detection:

  • Identify spell

  • DC 25 Intelligence (Arcana) to uncover the deeper curse
