Mortals are classified as animate beings that have developed in such a way that they are totally reliant on the physical manifestation of their body - usually in such a way that makes them biologically completely dependent on the rules imposed by the Pillars.

Though the world of Plumamentia contains many mortal species, four species specifically (The Khunlei: Alkhakh / Fae, Dryads, Ganjue / Strigoi, Sirens) were blessed by Xurhuan Zhi / Elysia. Two others (The Gui Mu: Elves and Humans) were shaped by Gurang Zhi / Solane and Huran Zhi / Nyxal.
