Eldrin

"Eldrins seldom give unguarded advice, for advice is a dangerous gift, even from the wise to the wise, and all courses may run ill."

J.R.R Tolkien

Long-lived Mages with unchecked lust for knowledge and power. French.

Quick Look

Magic

  • Eldrins are well-versed in the application and manipulation of Rune magic.

  • Eldrins generally apply Runes directly to areas they wish to affect. Given enough time and repeated effort, the effect often ends up as potent as it is permanent.

The Eldrins are a subculture of Elf primarily concerned with the mastery of immaterial pursuits.

Legendarily vain; Eldrins sequester themselves in settlements above cliffs and mountaintops so as to avoid interruption. There they spend entire centuries studying and philosophising.

Society

Though Eldrins like all Elves are intensely loyal in the face of external pressure, their internal society is still rife with ostracization and disparity.

Eldric social standing derives directly from recorded achievements - whether academic, scientific, philosophic, or magical. And once an achievement is bested or disproven, there exists little in the way of safety nets or second chances.

Notes
