Margarita was the main pearl producer for Sain until the governor change and set new prices for the pearls that made the risk of diving to get the pearls worthless, so the locals did not produced pearls anymore.
To contnue with the wealth cuota that the isla was supposed to send to Spain, the governor started harvesting ASH
