I have a pet peeve about players who want to play a particular anime, cartoon or movie character in an RPG. If you want to play Captain America in his colors, with his goofy spiel, and his way of speaking, this is not the game for you.

If you want to play a character that is inspired by a show, that can work, but keep in mind that if the inspiration is a particular fighting style, and we pick an option that is more roleplaying than combat, this won't be the right game to explore that.

As a rule of thumb, if your shorthand for describing your character is "Like Captain America, but in a fantasy setting" then that's not a good fit for the table. Similarly, if everyone at the table is likely to say, "Oh, that's Captain America!" because your background and in-game RP is very close to the character, that is also not a fit.

In case it isn't clear, Captain America is an example. This applies to any character from another media. Live a little, make your own character!
