Nikta Hedayat
/

Everyone I cared for, died because of my misgiven life of hope, of righteousness, of faith.

Now, the gods will not even let me rest from this world I no longer wish to be part of.

So be it. If I must suffer, so too will the world.

Description

Nikta is a thin, pale remnant of what she was in life. Her narrow frame almost flickers like the wisps of a candle flame struggling against a world and past in shadow. Her skin is a pale milky, sheer white, drained of whatever colour it might have had in life. At times, her physical form seems almost transparent, clashing with her mental inscrutability as she locks away her thoughts behind a permanent scowl. Her very existence contradicts her, as she's bound to a life she yearns to part from.

Unkempt oily white hair, with dark gray highlights is slicked back behind her head, transitioning into wisps of smoke as the strands thin. Some lie over her yellowed eyes, softening a permanent glare of malice and contempt. She hates being here. She hates being alive. She alone, out of everyone she knew and cared for, chose to die. Yet she alone was chosen to live. What cruel mockery could this be? Whomever is responsible for forcing life upon her will surely come to regret it.

Gear

Nikta travels fairly light. Most of her body is covered in a cool-toned blue-black leather armor. There's some minor variation with the underbust / boots being a matching and distinct colour from the rest of the set.

She sports an oxblood half-cloak, that transitions from shoulder-length to a full cape on her left hand side. On the closed side is her sheathed shortsword, which is visible as it pokes out of the cape. Hidden on that side are two throwing knives. The open side has her holstered, crude flintlock pistol and an old bag. Clasped onto her back below the cloak is a chain sword.

Traits and Motivations

Nikta is a nihilistic cynic, with both sadist and masochist tendencies. She is someone with nothing and no one left to live for, and would not be living, if she could so choose. Underscoring this is guilt, a feeling of betrayal, and hopelessness.

The sadomasochism, nihilism, and cynism are the only way she knows how to live in this world, and to cope with the horrible happenstances leading up to her demise. At present, at least, they determine most, if not all of her behaviour.

Her most redeeming quality at present would be her hatred of the rich and powerful, and her irascibility at the sight of the oppressed and marginalized. Indeed, she is very motivated to enact collective punishment on those like those who had wronged her.

She wants to find out why she is alive, so he can punish whoever is responsible for her torment, and, hopefully, end it.
