Installations

An Installation is a stationary workplace or location where you gain benefits for interacting with, or being near the Installation.

Installations all have costs associated with them; time, space, and money.

You can purchase an Installation for an appropriate amount of Gold, usually from the nearest villages, cities, or perhaps the manufacturer, or a merchant specializing in the Installation. Some Installations you may find the parts for, or even a whole one, and may be dismantled and re-installed in your Hold, if you can get it there. Installations can be quite hefty, so expect purchases from far away locales to take a while to arrive.

Each installation takes up space. Some simply need the physical space required to function, others need special requirements, such as an Altar needing to be in a holy place, or a Place of Power needing to be somewhere it can draw upon the powers of the land. These types of installations simply do not function if they are installed incorrectly.

Sometimes, a bigger space is better, so you can have your Installation larger than the minimum requirement. This may enable more people to use it, or simply be more comfortable. It may incur an increase in price, depending on your GM’s decision.

All installations have an amount of time required to properly install them. This time is measured in hours of work. For instance, a Place of power may take weeks to work properly due to the hours of work being much higher than any other Installation. The hours of work spent installing only counts if someone is actively working on installing the installation, whether it is your character or an NPC. Once all of the hours of work have been completed, the Installation is finished, and gains its benefits.

Removing an installation does not destroy the installation, and could allow you to move installations you find back to your hold. They will need to be installed to be used, like any other installation.
