BIO:
Etherweavers are a category of arachnid know for imbuing their silk esoteric effects, most commonly split in to the Two designations Ghostweavers and Shadeweavers.
Ghostweavers are typically the females of the species with a hard black carapace with white inkblot markings, hooks and barbed limbs upon which it drapes and snares sheets of its translucent silk that billows constantly as if in a unperceived wind.
Ghostweaver are capable of turning any part of their webs, or constructs made from their silk, selectively intangible, invisible, or both. They will often use this ability to lull prey into believing they are safe and free before shifting their web states to trap them before injecting them with a weak somnotoxin. their bite however are also just regularly toxic as well.
Ghostweaver silk if harvested could be used to make lightweight but sturdy garb that lends itself well to invisibility and intangibility enchantments.
Shadeweavers are the male counterparts and rarely grow larger than medium size, they are characterized by a black carapace with violet markings, and a almost shadow like silk. through this silk the shadeweaver is capable of casting some occult magic upon individuals whom are in physical contact with the web such as casting the dark spell on an entangled individual.
can teleport short distances in the dark.
Shadeweave silk is a good component in equipment meant to boost occult/dark effects.
ghostweavers often keep a few shadeweavers as either solider, or if times are lean emergency food
While neither has strictly a size limit, molting, increasing nutritional demands, and in the males case occasional culling. they rarely make it past large size but theoretically could become massive.
they increase in both size and intelligence with age it is possible old ones could be bargained with, or bribed
