As the Gods toiled against the efforts of corruption, it became apparent that a means to cleanse the influence of outer forces was necessary. This led to the eventual creation of Ildastr, among other methods.

Ildastr, the Cleansing Flame, is an Astra created in the image of a six armed, shadowy humanoid figure. He bears a flaming halo of darkness, which seemingly coalesces around him. In an array, surrounding his halo, are eleven, sword-like flaming emanations of divine power. He wears a dark cloak, and his face is shrouded in darkness. The whole of his body appears to be gently aflame, producing small, divine embers. His limbs can be used to wield his divine flame, shaping it into weapons or holy forms. He is commonly depicted channeling a sphere of flaming darkness between two of his hands, one above, and one below. He wears a very thin and long golden chain, which is wound about his abdomen.

For ages, Ildastr has been bound to the Hierarch of Ildram. Being capable of accepting Ildastr unto your soul is a necessary part of becoming the Hierarch of Ildram. Ildastr is the source of the Eternal Fire, and it's final bastion.
