Saurian Shrine

Background

The ancient shrine of the Saurians, located to the far north of Mundus Ferox, is a sacred site to the Saurian (Lizardfolk) people and their ancestors. It is a great confluence of magical and spiritual energy nestled within the humid marshes and dense jungles of the land.

The Saurian Shrine is a sacred site where many of the Saurians' ancestors were put to rest. The shrine itself, however, is much older than any recorded history. No one is quite sure who built it, how long it has stood, or what its original purpose was. The shrine is guarded by a set of powerful and revered creatures known as Dinosaurs.

Mayhem 2023

After fleeing the continent of Vetus Mundi, the dark priestess Asenath made her way to Mundus Ferox. There, she poisoned the minds of many, including Kobolds, Saurians, Humans (of the Clan of the Wolf), and even the shrine guardian itself. Asenath sealed the entrance to the shrine using the control panel and its many powerful crystals, then went to work on her chaotic rituals in the name of He Who Eats.

Through a combined effort, the Osterran adventurers were able to come together to open the shrine and fight deep within. Though Asenath’s minions were pushed back and defeated, the priestess herself had vanished into mist. Many of the Clan of the Wolf were lost in the battle, their wills twisted by Asenath’s madness. Though Azull and Levania of the Wardens were able to restore one of them to life, the others were too far gone to be returned.

The adventure ended with the Osterrans debating in council on how to best help the Saurians secure their shrine, as well as what to do with the enigmatic and powerful control panel.
