EQ4: No Sniping

When in active RP scenes, don’t take jabs at characters that they are incapable of reacting to; make sure it’s reflected in tone, body language, or expression. Otherwise, there’s simply no reason to include those thoughts, whether positive or negative.
Ex.

  1. Carrots’ lip curls at the sight of George the Eladrin, and he struggles halfheartedly to keep disdain from his voice. “What do you want?”

  2. Carrots grimaces at the approach of George the Eladrin; he has always hated their kind. “What do you want?”

  3. Carrots sees George the Eladrin and the sight alone makes him sick. He has never seen a more pathetic person, and pities what must be a sad, miserable existence. “What do you want?”
1 is good. It gives George’s player a chance to respond to Carrots’ evident dislike.
2 is okay. We don’t need to know he hates Eladrin, but it’s linked to an action George’s player can respond to.
3 is not okay. All emotions on George are internal, and adds nothing to the RP while running the risk of hurting the player behind the character.
