The Free Erudites are a collective of wizards and scholars who follow Zenithus, the Grand Astrometer. They differ fundamentally from the Society of Gastronomancy in that they believe all information and teachings should be free to the public, as opposed to the Society’s compartmentalized nature.
They have some high-profile followers but are only able to exude power in local politics, for they lack the public sway and resources to enforce legislation. They are known to openly oppose the Society’s stances and oftentimes work against their interests. Their members are known as Skywatchers, for their proclivity to communicate via messenger birds and exposing secrets in public through the magic of skywriting.
