Around 2600 a.s. the rule of the Heart Realm has passed hands many times. Countless kings, jealous dukes, exiled warlords, and hungry farmers had armed conflicts over the safest piece of the continent. The latest of which was the Daal Duchies, a collection of self-proclaimed royalty who owned most of the Taps and Bulwark Sierra. They were in a clinch with the revolting Hub working class, who successfully unionized with the North to form an armed militia.
The militia was disbanded and reformed many times as the Daal Duchies extended their influence towards Hub. Interference of supposed neutral parties like sailor guilds and the Samovar Archipelago created even more power struggles. This chaos lasted for 100 years before all parties agreed to a joint armistice, now known as the Ambrosia Convention.
