The Burning Blade of Morlos

Morlos was a legendary blacksmith who forged a sword with the heart of a dying star to end the tyrannical rule of the desert's cruelest king. It is said the sword burns eternally with the fire of Morlos' hatred, and those who wield it are bound to the same fate, never to rest until their enemy is slain. The sword has been lost for centuries, but in times of unrest rumors always surface that it has been found, its fiery blade waiting for a new master.

The people of the desert believe that carrying any weapon forged in fire during a time of peace invites war. To bring such a weapon into your home is to call forth the wrath of the gods.

Desert smiths quench a new blade's first heat in sand, not water, so Morlos' fire finds no home in it.
To gift a fire-forged weapon in peacetime is taken as a curse or a threat.
When rumor of the Blade surfaces, the old count the harvests until war.
