In my relentless pursuit to unravel the mysteries of the Plague, I have stumbled upon an unexpected remedy - a variant of the Yellow Root herb. I found this herb during my expeditions towards the mountains south of the Aridus Desert. This herb is usually known for its antiseptic properties, is already being used to slow the progression of the disease. This specimen however, has exhibited highly unusual characteristics. The roots themselves were darker, almost charred, yet they pulsed with a faint heat when handled.
Upon further examination, it seems these roots have absorbed vast amounts of Infernal energy, and though I am unsure where this energy originates from, I think it is vital to the cure. The Mutated Yellow Root has developed a resilience to ehat and toxins far beyond its natural counterparts.
Preliminary tests with this Mutated Yellow Root have yielded quite promising results. The herb's extract appears to temper the fevers induced by the plague, and slow the forming of blisters. I am cautiously optimistic that this mutated herb could serve as the foundational component of a potential cure. I will proceed with further testing.
