Desperation has driven me beyond science, into the tales of old. Majestic golden dragons that used to roam the land, their scales with oddly healing properties. We know dragons are long gone, only their descendants remaining. Still, I have searched the lands, and managed to procure a single pristine dragon scale, though not without great personal sacrifice.

After some testing, it seems the sacrifice has been more than worth it. Though I am reluctant to leave my hometown behind and trade it for a life of service the southern desert, the scale has beyond results beyond anything I could have ever imagined. When combined with the Mutated Yellow Root and the Voradine extract, a remarkably stable reaction occurred. The Plague's symptoms were suppressed in each and every test, the fever diminshed, and the blisters healed without further spreading of the disease.

Yet, each and every time, my patients passed, drifting into unconciousness and never returning from it. Though the mixture is powerful, it is not complete. It seems to lack a certain… essence of some kind. I cannot yet define it, but I have a hunch that it is tied to the divine, something far beyond our mortal realm. I suspect it may be related to the goddess Astradyne, whose blessings under a full Elyndra are said to heal the deepest of wounds. But I fear I may not be able to continue my testing, we have almost succeeded at extinguishing the disease by separating the infected from the healthy, and are gearing up to rebuild what is left of the Aridus Desert's last settlement. My expertise is needed elsewhere. I fear for the day the disease strikes again.
