A large city in Northern K'ul Goran, focused on industry, its textile mills reaching into the sky like so many spires. It is the closest large settlement to the lands of the Gotresham to the north, and managed to avoid the worst of the recent conflicts.

The river Mara (from which the city derives its name) runs through the city and toward the sea and Port Alaca, river barges being the most common form of commercial transport. The dyes from the textile mills cover the river in beautiful colors, but makes it toxic to swimmers.
