There was once a single dialect of Elvish, known firstly as Aelahir (or High Aelhir). While similar to modern Valhir, old elven was highly descriptive. Because of this, many elves from the first age and earlier tend to have long names bordering on the absurd.

The origin of the word Nhera is elven and means world.

Elven Forenames.

All elven names are given when the individual is young but never at birth or before adolescence; though pet names may be given before. The given name is unique, representative of an individual's personality, skill, or appearance; no two elves will ever bear the same name.

Elven Surnames.

Elven surnames act as individual titles or as representation of powerful families. Those with surnames have usually earned them whether by their crafts, appearance, or by their presence in warfare.
